Both parties sign the German mandate, with an English translation available. Unknown or unverified LUCID requests are not accepted without a valid signed mandate.

You complete the initial producer registration and maintain registration details yourself. After signing, select MC by name in LUCID.

Confirmed activation

We accept the LUCID appointment and follow the register confirmation, then arrange the applicable system participation and reporting. No fixed go-live date is promised.

Common questions about German packaging

Who needs a German packaging representative?

Foreign producers selling directly to German end users without an establishment in Germany need an appointment where the statutory conditions apply. This includes producers established elsewhere in the EU; we check the actual supply chain.

How do I appoint MC in LUCID?

After the mandate is signed, find and select MC by name in LUCID. ZSVR does not publish a separate public list of representatives. After confirmation, representative details appear with the producer’s public register entry.

What remains with the producer?

Initial LUCID registration and updates to registration details remain your responsibility. The representative performs the statutory packaging duties in its own name. Commercial service selection cannot exclude applicable statutory packaging duties.

Is all B2B packaging outside the dual system?

No. Classification depends on where packaging typically becomes waste and the applicable criteria, not the B2B label alone. We check system participation and other take-back duties for each stream.

How long does onboarding take?

Your timetable depends on complete information, signatures, packaging classification, scheme arrangements and register confirmation. We update you in writing without guaranteeing a go-live or listing-reinstatement date.
